We love digging through vinyl

The funny thing is: you gotta listen to a LOT of shit, just to catch that 6-second hook worth sampling. The end.

tribe longboards

Tribe longboards

This is our buddy Kevin busting out some of the fanciest, handmade riding machines you’ve ever dared cruise down a hill on. Kevin started making longboards in his living room in his old apartment on Baker street (man, hanging out at his place was ghetto, with all the wood-chips and carving tools thrown around the room)! Today, each board features a unique design/ one-of-a-kind artwork, they’re built rock solid out of local wood and really, who can beat riding around on their own custom-made board? Beat yourself up riding or hang one above your fireplace, either way these babies are made to impress (and ride well!) We think we might just commission old Kevin to create a “Kashoo” longboard for us to give away in a competition or something…. cause uh, we couldn’t keep it: we’re too afraid to break our wrists! Check out the Tribe Longboard website!

Kootenay Wax Depot

jKootenay Wax Depot

from recycled clumps of muck to this?

What is the Kootenay Wax Depot?

Candles are nice to burn … they make any dinner feel fancy, instant mood when you spending quality time with your lady (or man, or both) …but what do you do when you’re done with your candles? Just add them to the pile of rubbish that end up in landfills, like the rest of us, yeah? It’d be nice if there was a way to recycle that wax but candles don’t exactly come with recycling instructions like your beer bottle, do they?

Until now:

“The Kootenay Wax Depot and Revived Wax Handmade Candles work to provide an ethical choice in wax waste management”

which means that you can now recycle your wax by dropping it off at various participating businesses and locations around the Nelson area. The wax is then collected, filtered, sorted and transformed into one-of-a-kind, functional art candles, ready to be re-used for er …all the awesome reasons you use candles mentioned above!
For more information on this initiative, or to find out where you can get Revived Wax Candles or to find where you can recycle your wax, visit the Depot team here
